Hawthorn is a neighbourhood restaurant located in the heart of Kew Village offering Lunch and Dinner services to its diners in a light filled dining room.

The menu is inspired by Joshua Hunter, offering modern European using seasonal ingredients predominantly sourced from suppliers and farmers located across the United Kingdom.

Our staff are personable, knowledgeable and professional.

Owner & Head Chef

Chef Joshua Hunter will be running the kitchen, utilising his experience as a classically trained chef with thirteen years of experience cooking in Michelin-starred restaurants such as Kitchen W8, Murano by Angela Hartnett, and La Trompette.

Focusing on modern European cuisine underpinned by an ethos of generosity, Joshua creates mouthwatering dishes of outstanding quality, taking inspiration from fresh, seasonal ingredients. He will be using high-quality suppliers to create simple, unfussy dishes that prioritise flavour and combine his passion for British game and wild food.

Joshua also operates restaurant Joshua Hunter at Holland & Holland Shooting Grounds, established in 2019.

We’re incredibly lucky to be supported by some of the best suppliers in the UK such as Huntsham Court Farm in the Wye Valley and Flying Fish seafoods in Cornwall, offering us access to wonderful quality produce. If we can utilise that in a way that brings a moment of great joy to our guests then I’ll feel that we’ve done our job well.”
